INDYCAR's #FastSix is a report that borrows from all things found online about NTT IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We find pics, quips and the occasional GIF as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence on Twitter, Instagram and more. Check back regularly for the latest.
How nice of Josef Newgarden to plan this birthday surprise for Team Penske teammate Will Power at Texas Roadhouse! Because it’s totally Will’s birthday. It is. We promise.
There’s famous … then there’s meme-famous
Simon Pagenaud’s epic win at the 103rd Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge made headlines all around the world. But did you know it also made memes? This one from @TheDad strikes home for parents with “independent” kids.
A unique warmup routine
Harding Steinbrenner Racing driver Colton Herta stole the show on Saturday, winning NTT P1 Award in qualifying for the REV Group Grand Prix presented by AMR. Herta became the youngest pole winner in Indy car history.
What we didn’t know was that he won another honor earlier in the day, with team co-owner George Steinbrenner IV joining him for some Road America fun before they pulled off their historic feat on the track.

Sunset over Iowa
With the 0.894-mile oval looming on July 20, three NTT IndyCar Series teams took to Iowa Speedway on Tuesday in advance of the Iowa 300. Rookie Felix Rosenqvist of Chip Ganassi Racing will compete at the track for the first time later this month and captured this gorgeous sunset before heading back on track for night practice.
Another blood drive success at Road America
On the heels of World Blood Donor Day, Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver James Hinchcliffe continued his quest to engage race fans in blood donation with a blood drive at Road America. The drive is the fourth of the 2019 season, with five more scheduled at remaining NTT IndyCar Series events (Iowa, Mid-Ohio, Gateway, Portland and Laguna Seca).
Thanks to everyone who came out and joined the #RaceToSaveLives at our blood drive yesterday! The need for blood is constant and you’re helping make a difference. Thank you! @RedCross // @RedCrossBloodBH // @roadamerica pic.twitter.com/AX5BnSK6Px
