“Everyone at Firestone Racing is happy to see the NTT INDYCAR SERIES go racing this weekend at Mid-Ohio, which is only 75 miles from our Bridgestone campus in Akron, Ohio where we design and produce all Firestone Firehawk race tires. With this having been such a unique year for everyone, it will be great to celebrate the hard work our tire builders, engineers and technicians have put in all season with a race so close to home. This year the primary and alternate tires have the same construction as the 2019 Mid-Ohio tires, but they each have a new compound designed to increase durability while maintaining the same level of grip as last year.”

- Cara Adams, Director of Race Tire Engineering and Production, Bridgestone Americas Motorsports

Nearby Akron, Ohio has been central to Firestone’s racing legacy for more than a century, and that heritage will continue with a new, state-of-the-art race tire manufacturing facility set to open by the end of 2020. In Akron, a team of more than 50 engineers, expert tire builders and manufacturing professionals are responsible for designing and producing all Firestone Firehawk race tires used by the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. This team has worked closely with INDYCAR all season to provide tires wherever and whenever needed, including the nearly 1,900 tires for this rescheduled doubleheader weekend at Mid-Ohio.
