LEXINGTON, Ohio – NTT IndyCar Series rookie driver Colton Herta returned to the top of the speed chart in Saturday’s practice, the same position he held after Friday’s two sessions.
NTT P1 Award qualifying for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 is set for 2:30 p.m. today.
Herta drives the No. 88 Capstone Turbine Honda of Harding Steinbrenner Racing, and he turned a lap of 1 minute, 5.7048 seconds. Spencer Pigot, driver of Ed Carpenter Racing’s No. 21 Autogeek Chevrolet, was second at 1:05.7625.
The rest of the top five: Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi (No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda), Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsport’s James Hinchcliffe (No. 5 Arrow Honda) and Dale Coyne Racing rookie Santino Ferrucci (No. 19 Cly-Del Manufacturing Honda).
There was one brief stoppage in the session. Rookie RC Enerson spun without contact and stalled the No. 31 Lucas Oil School Chevrolet of Carlin in Turn 9. Felix Rosenqvist slid through the gravel in Turn 4, but he was able to return to the track on his own without causing a caution period.
Sunday’s 90-lap race will air on NBC at 4 p.m. ET.
Radio broadcasts for qualifying and the race will be broadcast via SiriusXM on Sirius 98, XM 209 and SXM 970.
